The crazy world of flower appendages

Take a moment, and LOOK at a Tiger Lily while lying on the ground directly BENEATH IT….

You will notice that unlike other lily garden dwellers, the Tiger Lily has long thin appendages that seem to be floating in the air saying "Weeeeeeeeeee!"
Tiger Lilys are DEFINITELY HAPPY FLOWERS!

Color Infringement!

 Today's topic is COLOR INFRINGEMENT!

Color  Infringement also known as Color Oozing , is the unintentional infringement of a color upon the appearance of something unintended to be infringed upon!

Anyway you look at it... it's FABULOUS!

  This is The Story of
My Most Fabulous Garden Lantern

******
YOU JUST HAVE TO SEE MY NEW LANTERN!

It is covered in the most beautiful flowers...
and it just is THE most fabulous THING!

I decided that in order to honor my new lantern, I would have to put it, in the ABSOLUTE most perfect spot!
I set the lantern in one of my gardens; it has a peaceful theme. I was immediately filled with confident admiration and certainty that this would be the ideal placement!
But then...just moments later...I had the urge to hang the lantern from a hook, high up on my deck!!! ... it really looked so perfect and I thought..."YES! YES! YES! ...that's it for sure!"
It might have been just an instant later, when I found myself running with the lantern, then setting it  down...this time right in the center of one of my flower gardens! I've now created the backdrop for a fabulous garden affair!

But wait! Look at it hanging on  my whimsical garden hook!!! ... "Without question…it has added to my garden’s cottage flair!"

At that point, I was in a ‘lantern frenzy’ and paused to set it down on a rocking chair!

Next, I’m going to bring my new lantern INTO the house - Does anyone want to see how it looks in there?

Of course, It looked good in every single  room of my house!

And before I knew what had hit me...I was compelled to carry my lantern back out to the garden again...

I finally had the realization that...
MY LANTERN LOOKS GOOD EVERYWHERE I PUT IT AND... EVERYWHERE I PUT IT LOOKS GOOD!

Oh! I must tell you the best part ... the thing that adds to the spectacular-ness of my lantern!!!! The candle inside is battery operated...and has a TIMER in it... so it lights up ON IT'S OWN at the same time every night!

My heartfelt thanks for this floral design masterpiece lantern, to my amazing friend Stephen, owner of www.artsflowersmn.com!!!

Just a little peak ..

Were should we sit?

This is my absolute favorite place to sit.  This is my sanctuary.  My husband and I created this together from an absolutely barren and stark patch of nothingness.

Garden Therapy Results ...

Spend some time with me in my yard and you’ll go away looking something like this!

The Bugatorium Emporium Newest Additions!

Ok…so my new fascination with the bugs in my yard continues…

Today my bug bionic eye spotted some NEW and exciting flying things that seem to enjoy landing on my plants!  Let me show them to you NOW!
Above...Look at this TEENY little guy on the edge of the flower petal!  I noticed it’s wings and HAD to try to get a photo!
This is called a Syrphid Fly or a Hover Fly or a Flower Fly!

The good news is they don’t bite or sting!

Andthey are considered GOOD BUGS because they like to EAT PLANT SUCKING BUGS that attack the pretty flowers in my garden!

Can you see the almost invisible ‘blur’ below?

If you look closely, you can see the curled antenna clearly, on this barely visible image, of a flying brown moth.
The cute brown moth finally landed long enough on one of my front yard coneflowers long enough for me to get a clearer shot.  It’s pretty cute!
I think the brown moth has a relative hanging out in my my back yard...flitting from black-eyed susan's to coneflowers.

This brown moth is also pretty cute.

I’m pretty sure this bee is loaded with a couple of sacks full of yellow pollen!

I blew the photo up a bit and it LOOKS LIKE the bee is collecting STARS OF POLLEN!
